Calling all Carrie Bradshaw fans!

Even if you are one of the few people out there who didn’t religiously watch Sex in the City and barring that you didn’t live under a rock for for the past 15 years, you know of this fictional fashionista's (played by Sarah Jessica Parker) love for shoes.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who credits Carrie Bradshaw as her muse is launching a collection of shoes that will be sold exclusively at select Nordstrom stores and online at Nordstrom.com.  I was surprised to find that the line is more ladylike and classic than what I expected, but it still manages to be sexy and playful which we would expect of Carrie.  It’s only fitting that Parker collaborates with the CEO of Manolo Blahnik on the collection, a label that as Carrie she introduced many of us too.  The collection which is manufactured in Italy will also include a selection of bags and a trench coat.

Although the line priced from $195 - $485 is high end, it’s relatively a bargain compared to Manolo Blahnik’s.  And with it’s timeless styling, classic silhouettes and Made in Italy quality I think it is a good investment that can be worn for years to come.

Here are some of my favorites from the line that debuts February 28th.

About Me

What’s your blog about?
It’s about pretty things and smart ideas that I hope might provide a little dose of inspiration for your everyday life.  I talk about food, fashion, travel and all of the things that I like or love or  happen to come upon and find interesting.

Why did you start it?
Well, I like to read blogs and fashion and food magazines, and find new trends and recipes and so on.  I love to share what I find with friends and family but since everyone’s lives are so hectic and it’s sometimes hard to keep in touch or find time to talk, a blog is a great way to keep it all in one place.  I’ve only been at it a short couple of months but it’s been a wonderful creative outlet for me and I am having a blast doing it.  It’s a work in progress and I am learning so much every day.

What’s your background and what do you do besides blog?
I worked in the fashion industry both in buying and marketing for many years before I decided to leave corporate America and enroll in culinary school.  I completed the Italian Program at the  International Culinary Center   in New York and Alma in Parma, Italy.  I was so blessed to be able to study in Italy, my favorite place in the world.  I then did an internship at Ristorante La Madia in  Sicily, which was one of the best and also hardest experiences of my life.  Since then I've interned at the Food Network and have done some private catering.  I currently work at a cooking school in New Jersey.

What else do you want to tell us about yourself?
Well, I am somewhat of a Newlywed (just about 4 years) and really enjoying life with my super supportive and loving husband and my wonderful stepson.  I’ve had my share of ups and downs from cancer to struggling with my weight to raising a child with special needs but life is great and everyday is an opportunity to live it to the fullest.  My favorite things in life are shopping, eating, (don’t judge me) and spending time with family and friends.

As much as I love to share ideas and inspiration I also like to learn new things and meet new people.

If you have questions about what to make for your next dinner party or what to wear to that daytime wedding, I’d love to help.  Feel free to email me at prettysmartme@hotmail.com with any questions, ideas or suggestions you have.
